5 Things To Do In Big Bear Lake, CA With Kids For Free

Let's be honest, traveling with kids can sometimes get very expensive. Here's a list of things we did that helped us stay on budget while having fun.

  1. Go to the lake
You can take a stroll down the lake, get great pictures and even have a picnic! (depending on the weather).

  2. Have fun in the snow
You don't have to spend money to have fun. Find a hill with snow and go for it. My kids had fun creating a snowman, having a snow fight and just exploring around.

  3. Walk around The Village
In the heart of Big Bear Lake you’ll find a charming district known as The Village. In winter The Village turns into a winter wonderland, from holiday lights to the delicate ice sculptures.

  4. Go for a hike!
If you're feeling adventurous go for a hike. The forests surrounding Big Bear Lake offer trails for hikers and walkers at all skill levels. For the adventurous, high peaks offer 360 degree panoramas.

  5. Enjoy some s'mores and hot cocoa
Most cabins have a fire pit, my kids went crazy for this. It is also nice to get warm and cozy while surrounded with snow.
